Learn More About the People Behind Bickerman Dispute Resolution, PLLC

John Bickerman has logged more than 20,000 hours mediating complex, multi-party disputes. He has helped resolve disputes totaling more than $3 billion, including public policy, commercial, insurance coverage, construction, tribal and natural resources disputes. He also helps major companies develop dispute resolution systems.

Mr. Bickerman is the Past Chair of the American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of The Best Lawyers in America five times, most recently in the 2012 edition. Mr. Bickerman graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1988 and earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Cornell University with a concentration in labor economics and collective bargaining.

Ms. DeMaret-Tahu has worked as a mediator for over a decade. She has mediated or facilitated the resolution of disputes for schools, juvenile justice programs and communities, and served as a neutral in construction defect, housing and water rights disputes. She has also designed and implemented training and consensus-building processes for communities struggling with planning and policy issues. She earned an M.S. degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University in 2000 where she specialized in the resolution of community and public disputes and consensus building processes. She is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution and the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), and served as Secretary of the District of Columbia Chapter of ACR from 2007-2008.
